I graduated!!! What now?
So this was supposed to be posted three days ago, but my busy schedule prevented me to. Things are just really hectic on my end, which is why I am only going to do about two to three post a week. Anyways, I just wanted to say that I graduated!!!
Talking about graduating...Graduations are lit, man!!! No, seriously, they are lit. There are so many different scholarships awarded to a variety of people....and don't you just love how long a graduation takes?? I am not complaining whatsoever, but they are long. Just imagine being the person who is graduating. Most of the graduates just want to get the heck out of there as fast as their limbs can take them, but instead they sit and wait for the fear that it may be taken into an account and they get in trouble, or something like that.

Picture of my graduation of us tossing our caps in the air. |
Anyways, graduations are a time to set a new pathway. It can be sometimes sad, but it is mostly filled with joy. For any reason, graduations are meant to be one of the happiness moments in your life. In light of this joyous events. I wrote a poem, a while back that is in my book called Obstacles, specifically for graduation:
GRADUATION
Green, Blue, Yellow, Red and White.
Caps and Gowns.
Mothers and Fathers proud.
Teachers sitting around
Wondering what to do next.
Applaud, Applaud!
The new year had just begun.
2019 is becoming 2020.
This time however
There are no more Caps and Gowns.
This time however,
We get a new beginning to a fresh start.
Graduation isn't always what it seems.
Sure, we shed tears.
Sure, we become joyful of the celebratory day,
But the main thing is
Graduation is something to be proud about.
Moving forward is the key
Instead of moving back.
Some people tend to look beyond the fact of the matter.
Graduation isn't what it always seems to be.
It's joyful, giving, prideful.
But one thing that seems to be missing
Is a non-Senior to say thanks.
A brother, sister, Mother, or Father
Coming up stage.
Graduation is something great to achieve.
I don't know as much as other people do
But what I do know is that
Graduation is awesome.
To get away from the hard
To get to the fresh
Is something that is outstanding.
To live a life
To where you are an adult
Is something that is heartbreaking.
Don't get me wrong—
Adults are great
But responsibilities kick in
Then we need someone to save the day.
Now some of you are probably hoping for me to stop here
But I am not done quite yet.
Graduation is a mystery
Figuring out the clues
Which who goes to what
There's OU, OSU, UCO, and plenty more
I just can't quite remember them all.
Graduation is outstanding
Learning beyond what the teachers had taught
Socratic Seminars, reading novels, Writing Essays
Or at least some of us do
Some are here today
From the hard work they inserted
Some as I may say
Others—
Well they understand
So let’s be joyful
Give thanks to the Seniors who are here today
They could have given up
But they worked and pushed their way through
Oh, one last thing
A journey never ends until you tell it to stop
My advice
Don't give up
Push hard
And you can accomplish anything that you put your mind to
Look around
See the Seniors today
They didn't give up
As a matter of fact
They pushed
Accomplished about anything
Sure there were tough times
And the parents, friends, and teachers
Wanted to throw in the towel
But they didn't
Like the Seniors didn't today
Follow their lead
Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors
Because one day this will be you
On this stage
You see, this poem---my poem reflects the times of good, and also the not good. Graduations are meant to be happy. If you are not happy, may I just ask what is preventing the happiness from producing in your life? You must live life accordingly to how you want to live. Life is not always easy, as someone told me, but you must be in control of it, and choose what makes you happy, and no-one else. So, I graduated...Now what?
After graduating, it is time for college...The joys of that. It is soooo much fun to think about even enrolling into a college. It takes so much time and effort to just get up out of bed just to go to a school and to set a schedule. However, it must be done. You must get up. You must live life. You have to. It is the only say you can survive in this world….too survive college. It isn't always easy living life as a college student. There is already bills stacked up and things you must pay for before you even graduate. My advice?? Pick a school you really love---that you really want to go to, and then find a way to pay for those bills. Get scholarships. Join the athletics programs. Be involved in high school. Lastly, just enjoy high school while you can, because once you step foot into the adult world, things just are not the same as they once were.
